sounds like starter motor but also could be engine earth wire|||could also be the alternator|||did it show any more symptoms, any squeaky sounds for a week or so after starting the car?.... if yes then get the alternator repaired of changed. bit expansive work. almost 100拢.|||Does the engine turn over or do you just get a clicking sound.This kind of fault is very difficult to diagnose at a distance.|||not enough info but try the red wire from battery to starter get some one to turn it over and wiggle the wire at the same time. It wont be the alternater as if the battery the car would start.|||Hi
If absolutely nothing at all happens when you turn the key then it could very well be the starter motor, but have the wiring checked out before condemning anything else, particularly the battery and the earth strap.
