the motor is designed to run in delta and a star-delta starter is used for starting. the time for change over from star to delta is kept 30 secs. Any problem? For how long can we keep the motor running in star?
What'll happen if a 3 phase induction motor is kept running for 30 seconds in star and then changed to delta?
Why would you want to? Starting in star gives you a higher start torque but has lower running torque so is detrimental to leave it longer than necessary.
